Kelvedon St Mary’s C of E Primary Academy is a church school rated as Outstanding by both Ofsted and SIAMS ( the organisation that monitors church schools for the Church of England)
St Mary’s Academy is part of a MAT, a Multi Academy Trust. A MAT operates more than one school who work together for their mutual benefit.
Our MAT partners are Finchingfield St John the Baptist C of E Primary School and Tolleshunt D’Arcy St Nicholas Primary C of E Academy.
At St Mary’s we have three church governors and the Vicar is an ex officio member of the governing body.
The Church Outreach Group provides activities in church and school (currently via video)
The Church Links Group works closely with the school to ensure the Christian ethos is upheld.

Year 5 had a fabulous afternoon taking part in Messy Remembrance. The children had so much fun following Geraldine's Video. The teachers are now in the process of putting the displays
The Church Outreach Group went into school in February 2019 to teach year 6 to knit as part of their WW2 learning - Make do and Mend.
Our vision is To inspire in every child a love of learning and the confidence to explore, grow and achieve as individuals.
As the newly appointed Chair on the Interim Executive Board (IEB) I am delighted to say that the school is to be ably led by Interim Headteacher, Doretta Cowie for the foreseeable future. With the support and encouragement of all of us the new team of teachers and other staff will be working hard to ensure that every child in the school has the best opportunity to develop and achieve in a warm, inclusive community.
Parents are welcome as a vital part of the community – supporting children in their learning and supporting the staff and IEB in a positive and productive environment. We aim to ensure that every child who has a place will make good personal and academic progress, enjoy their learning and feel safe, secure and happy. Sometimes though, parents may have concerns and they should first discuss them with the class teacher, then if necessary the headteacher and as a last resort consider whether or not to make a formal complaint. Please note there is a revised and updated Complaints Policy available to download on the policies page.

LENT GROUP ON ZOOM - STARTING TUESDAY 23rd FEBRUARY
Our new Tuesday evening Zoom Lent Group starts this Tuesday, 23rd February at 8.00 pm. We’re reading Being Disciples, a very short book by Rowan Williams (SPCK, 2016 – ISBN 978-0-281-07662-8). Only 80 pages, it’s a rich, thoughtful book that repays time given to it; it’s also very accessible, quite easy to read and widely available to buy online. There will be 6 sessions, based on the 6 chapters: ‘Being disciples’; ‘Faith, hope and love’; ‘Forgiveness’; ‘Holiness’; ‘Faith in society’; and ‘Life in the Spirit’. Each session will last about an hour, and we do hope you can join us. Here are the Zoom details:
Meeting ID: 819 4942 1387 Passcode: 709773
