Whilst many Church Activites have been suspended or reduced at this time, we have looked at ways to provide support through Zoom and Email. As well as Prayers, Services and Blessings which can all be found by looking at the Services and Prayer & Bible Readings pages, we have also undertaken a range of activites which we encourage you to be part of.

KNITTING HEARTS FOR COVID 19 PATIENTS IN IPSWICH AND COLCHESTER HOSPITALS
Christine Hall from Tiptree Ministries has arranged with Jackie Hatton to collect knitting hearts for COVID-19 patients in Ipswich and Colchester hospitals. These hearts are a lovely idea. Two hears at made with one going to the hospitalized patient and the other to the closest relative bringing love to both. When you make them please do not stuff them too plumply as one is to be sent through the post to the relative at home. Make these hearts with love. All colours are ok as long as they are in matching pairs but pink or red are preferable. It is important to use clean yarn and seal them in a taped bag, such as a freezer bag, the bags should be dated because 72 hours must have elapsed before being opened.
The hearts can be dropped off with Jackie Hatton at East of England Co-op Funeral on the cross roads at 1-3 Chapel Road, Tiptree, CO5 0RA. Please come to the front door and she will direct you to the back of the building to drop them off (as the front door is locked). Her Co-op Funeral team colleagues will then deliver them to the hospitals for us. If you wish to phone Jackie before you deliver please call on 01621 279999.

SCRUBS FOR THE NHS & CARE WORKERS
SCRUBS etc FOR THE NHS and CARE WORKERS are looking for volunteers to sew, volunteers for admin & logistics and donations of polyester-cotton sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases as material and sewing thread.
Do you have a sewing machine? Are you expert with facebook etc? Do you have admin / co-ordination skills? Do you have polyester-cotton sheets, duvet covers, pillow covers that you no longer use or need? And sewing thread?
Let's socially isolate AND work together from our own homes in Kelvedon and Feering to help the NHS and care workers:
a. by turning out cupboards etc for polyester/cotton sheets, duvet covers & pillow cases (NOT 100% cotton) that can be used by volunteer sewers to make scrubs - worn under plastic aprons / protective gowns - and also hats, and also laundry bags to put the scrubs in to be washed. Also any sewing thread in more-or-less matching colours.
b. as volunteer sewers with sewing machines - more expert for scrubs, less expert for laundry bags.
c. as non-sewing helpers for co-ordination, emails & social media posts, logistics & transport, and maybe for pattern cutting.
Please contact Katherine Evans on 01376 570156 if you can help with any of these things to form a mini volunteer hub in Feering & Kelvedon.
Alternatively if you are an NHS or care worker and need scrubs etc or know of a colleague / places that need them, please also contact Katharine.
