2026 Pet Service

This years popular St Mary's Pet Service will have a very interesting speaker.  Member of our congregation, Caroline Wheeler, will talk to us about her bees...No, we know bees are not cuddly pets  - but Caroline refers to them as "my girls!"  Caroline isn't just a hobby beekeeper- she is hugely experienced.  

She  is a second generation beekeeper who swapped working in London to become a Honey Bee Farmer,  working with farmers throughout Essex to pollinate crops.  At peak running 100+ hives,  harvesting tonnes of honey and supplying London and local retailers.  At the same time she was sharing the knowledge, teaching the craft,  along with mentoring new beekeepers.  When she retired, Caroline moved to Kelvedon, now she has several hives in Braxted Park and Galleywood. 

We are in for a treat.  All the other elements of this gloriously chaotic, noisy service will remain the same. Including pet blessing by Simon. We mostly have dogs, along with a tortoise or two.  The dogs always bark - well my dog does - Caroline has two dogs of her own and a loud voice so will be able to make herself heard over any barking!  We look forward to seeing you there for this very special service.
